METRIX

The pairs fitness race: five 10-minute stations, DJs, and a score instead of a clock.

Overview

What it is

METRIX is a UK indoor fitness competition with nightclub production — live DJs, club lighting and a recovery zone. Everyone races in pairs, and everyone races for exactly the same time: five 10-minute stations with 4-minute transitions, about 70 minutes wall to wall.

There is no finish line to chase — you bank as many metres and reps as you can at each station, and pairs are ranked per station. The best combined ranking wins.

Format

How the race works

  • 5 stations × 10 minutes work, 4-minute transitions — every wave lasts the same ~70 minutes
  • Station order: Ski Erg · Burpees Over Line · Row Erg · Bike Erg · Sled Push + Shuttle Runs
  • Strict you-go-I-go: one partner works while the other rests, split however you like
  • Scoring: pairs are ranked per station within their category; lowest total of ranks wins

Rules

Rules worth knowing

  • Pairs only — there is no solo competition
  • Burpee standard: chest to floor, then a two-footed jump over the line
  • All equipment is provided; wear comfortable athletic clothing and trainers
  • Minimum age 18; photo ID may be required at check-in

Timings

Times and start waves

  • Every race lasts the same ~70 minutes — fitness changes your score, not your finish time
  • You choose a Morning (8–12), Afternoon (12–4) or Evening (4–7) window at booking; waves of 20 pairs go every 14 minutes
  • Exact wave times are published well ahead of race day (weeks, not days)
